Class 6 have been learning about South Shields this term. They are creating sculptures of the local landmarks and have been learning about famous people in South Shields.
For World Book Day we dressed up as such gorgeous queens and handsome kings! We even had visitors on Thursday and Friday to read to us. On Thursday a man and lady came from library at The Word and on Friday Libbie’s dad came to see us! We were all very excited – we aren’t used to other adults coming in to read us stories and C3 were overjoyed. Here are some photos from the week. Miss Wilson x
On World Book Day, the children in Class 4 had a visit from Jolene and Jason from The Word in South Shields. They told us all about the library at The Word and read us two amazing books: The Knight who wouldn’t Fight and The Cook and the King.
We really enjoyed dressing up as Kings and Queens for the day and did a brilliant class assembly all about World Book Day where we re-enacted the story The Princess and the Wizard!
We have had an excellent week learning about kings and queens. We have made a crown and had special visitors that have came into school to read a story. We have written book reviews in literacy and ordered kings and queens chronologically on a time line.
Before half term, Class 3 designed their own pizzas with a range of toppings. They all had tomato puree and cheese as staples then had a choice of mushrooms, peppers, sweetcorn and ham. This week they got to make their very own pizzas before we popped them in the oven. They were cooked ready for the girls and boys to eat after break – and they were DELICIOUS! Miss Wilson x
