20th June 2025Chloe Smith

What a fantastic afternoon for our Year 1 sports day!

We are so proud of the children for the hard work and resilience they demonstrated throughout every single race! It was so lovely to hear them cheering each other on!

And a huge thank you to all the grown ups for coming along to watch and cheer on the children and of course, getting involved in our adults race!!

Our Bean Diary

2nd May 2025Chloe Smith

This week we have been learning all about non-fiction texts. We looked at what non-fiction means and features of a non-fiction text. We then explored the book ‘My Bean Diary’ which shows us how broad beans grow from a tiny bean into a plant. We therefore thought it was only right we planted our own beans so that we could watch them grow. We talked about what our beans need to grow and made sure we provided these so the bean could grow. We are so excited to see how they change over the next few weeks!!

WANTED – Have You Seen This Monster?

31st March 2025Chloe Smith

This week we have been reading the story ‘The Wriggly Squiggly’ and we were absolutely horrified to find that on Friday, one of the blue monsters from the story had not only been on our playground, but had made a terrible mess! To help us catch the monster, we created wanted posters. We made sure to use lots of descriptive language to describe the monster so other people knew exactly what to look out for!

Class 4

What’s in the Cup?

31st March 2025Chloe Smith

In Science, we have been looking at the five senses. We talked about what they were, how we use them and which parts of the body are needed for each one. We used our senses to explore the season of Spring, describing what we could see, hear, taste, smell and feel. We then carried out an experiment, using our senses to describe 6 different mystery items, including:

Chocolate

☕️ Coffee beans

Washing up liquid

Yoghurt

Water

Lemon juice

We described their smell, what they looked like and how they felt before guessing what we thought it might be. Of course we identified the chocolate straight away! But some others like the coffee had us stumped!
