Class 3 have been practising counting in fives. They completed ‘multiplication wheels’ using their knowledge of the five times table.
Class 3 are wearing their pyjamas for comic relief today. We have learned all about the charity and who it helps, and designed our own Comic Relief noses.

Class 3 performed brilliantly in their class assembly all about spring. They read out some lines from their acrostic poems and acted out the story of ‘the Prince of Butterflies’. Great singing and dancing too! Well done, class 3.
Class 3 have been reading the story ‘Handa’s Surprise’ and enjoyed tasting some of the delicious fruits that Handa took to her friend Akeyo in the story, like mango, pineapple, avocado and banana. We used our senses to come up with brilliant adjectives to describe each fruit.
Class 3 dressed up as animals for World Book Day! We had lots of fun reading a range of books and we created our own animal stories using an app on the iPads.
Class 3 had a wonderful time visiting St Hilda’s Church as part of their ‘Christianity’ topic. They learned all about the history of St Hilda and had fun identifying the different features of a church, such as the altar, pulpit, font, organ and stained glass windows.
The children were so well behaved and could remember lots of information from their RE lessons. They learned so much about the Christian Church and asked Father Chris lots of interesting questions.
Class 3 took part in a workshop for Safer Internet Day all about staying safe online. We played lots of fun games and used role play to act out scenarios about keeping our personal information private when using a computer. We know that we must never give out information such as our name, age, address or school to strangers.
In PE this week, class 3 were learning how to cooperate and work as a team. In pairs, we used our bodies to move around the hall like different animals, making sure we listened to our partners ideas and helped each other. We tried being penguins, elephants, mice, kangaroos and giraffes. Then we worked together to play some fun team games.
Class 3 did brilliantly in their ‘Chinese New Year’ assembly today.
They have enjoyed learning all about the Chinese Zodiac story, looking at different artefacts and using instruments to re-create Chinese music.
Well done for working so hard to learn your lines for the assembly! Miss Holtham is very proud.
