This week we have been looking at different shaped foods. We made our own pizzas and used our literacy skills to read the recipe and our maths skills to count out the ingredients. We watched the pizza go from a circle into a triangle when we cut a slice to eat.
Class 4 enjoyed taking part in lots of different reading activities during our guided reading session this week. In groups, they read books, played phonics games, made words using phase 3 sounds, read tricky words and used them in sentences, and had fun using reading apps on the iPads.
The children in class 4 did brilliantly in their ‘Farmer Duck’ assembly today, which was all about working together and being a team. We know how important it is to help and care for one another.
The children all worked very hard to learn their lines. Well done, everyone!
This week we have been learning about birthdays. We played a guessing game where we had to guess what was inside each present by looking at the shape and feeling it.
We have had lots of fun and made lots of new friends.
The children in class 4 have settled into year 1 brilliantly! They have been learning all about Autumn this week and looked at a range of items that we find in Autumn, such as acorns and conkers, then painted some wonderful Autumn pictures for our display.
Some photographs from our sports day…
We had a brilliant time on our trip to Alnwick Gardens. We enjoyed looking around the garden and finding out all about the different types of plants.
We learned about the bees that live there and how they make honey.
We were able to see inside of a beehive and watch the bees at work; we even got to taste some of their delicious honey!
The rain didn’t ruin our trip…
We had fun planting different types of flowers.
Class 3 did brilliantly in their summer performance of ‘The Wind and the Sun’. The children worked so hard to learn their speaking parts as well as all of the songs. The singing and acting was fantastic. A huge well done! 🙂
