In our guided reading lesson this week we looked at non-fiction texts. We read a non-fiction book and used the contents page, glossary and index to help us answer questions. We found out that non-fiction texts include features like headings, photographs, diagrams, and lots of facts and information. We also had fun playing reading games using ‘Spellodrome’ on the iPads.
Class 3 have done some brilliant addition this week. They played ‘Strike it Out’ – The first player chooses two numbers on a number line and crosses them out. The second player then circles the sum of the two numbers and writes down the calculation. The players then swap over and repeat.
Lots of children were able to solve the sums using mental methods. Well done!
Class 3 used an app on the iPads to make ebooks about internet safety. They had fun presenting their ebooks to the rest of the class.
Class 3 had such a lovely time at the park this week.We looked at lots of different materials and structures and had fun playing on the equipment.
This week class 3 had a visit from the Openzone! We learned all about e-safety and used an app on the ipads to take pictures and make our own puppet shows about the importance of staying safe when we are using computers. We had so much fun!
Class 3 learned all about portraits this week and painted some lovely portraits of themselves!
