In maths we have been using bar models to solve number bonds to 20.
Class 4 had a great time on their trip to Temple Park Fields on Monday. They found lots of Autumn things, including leaves, conkers and pine cones. They even saw some rabbits and squirrels!
Class 4 have been investigating ways of making ten. We explored all possible sets of two numbers that make ten and recorded our findings using part-whole models.
This week we talked about how the nights are getting darker and thought of ways that we can stay safe when it gets dark. We designed some amazing reflective jackets to help us to be seen when crossing the road.
Class 4 had lots of fun making ‘leaf hedgehogs’ this week using fallen leaves.

Class 4 went in a ‘senses walk’ around the school to look at how things change in Autumn. We used our senses to describe what we could see, hear, smell and feel.
We came up with some brilliant adjectives!
We have been learning all about the four seasons this week. We drew pictures and wrote labels to show how the seasons are different.
The boys and girls in Class 4 have enjoyed their first few days in Year 1 and settled into their new class extremely well. 😊
The children in Class 4 had wonderful time on their trip to The Alnwick Garden this week. They enjoyed looking at the different flowers and got to plant their own wallflowers to take home.
They went into the beehive and found out lots of interesting facts all about bees. They even went on a giant hunt and found the giant asleep, snoring in the lake!
