In our science lesson this week we learnt about the 7 life processes of all living things. 😊

As part of our history topic we have been learning all about a significant person from the past – Florence Nightingale. Can you believe she travelled from the past to visit our school?

The children were very excited to meet her and asked her lots of interesting questions.

Class 6 have produced some fantastic character descriptions of the dark from the story Orion and the Dark. They used expanded noun phrases and similes to describe and specify.

We have enjoyed having a non-uniform day for Children in Need and completing lots of fun activities. In our maths lesson we practised adding amounts from the ‘Children in Need shop’. In our extended writing lessons we wrote some fantastic persuasive letters persuading people to donate to Children in Need.

Class 6 had a fantastic time on their trip to Openzone at The Word this week. The children created some wonderful animations of ‘The True Story of the Three Little Pigs’ using the 2Create app. They also enjoyed acting out the story to create a video in the green screen room.

Class 6 have been using recyclable materials to create animal habitats in their Design Technology lesson this week.

The children in Class 6 have been using adjectives and nouns to create some fantastic similes.

Class 6 had a special visit from a lady called Kerry from Northumbria Police. She talked to the children all about relationships and friendships.

The children discussed the people who are important to them and came up with a list of special people that they can talk to if they are feeling worried about anything, or if they just want someone to talk to. Lots of the children said that the important people in their lives are their families, friends, Miss Holtham and Mrs Askwith.

In our computing lesson this week we used the Book Creator app to create fact files with lots of information about the continents and oceans of the world.
