This week in Class 5 we have been learning all about Remembrance Day in preparation for our assembly. We made our own poppy pictures and talked about why we have Remembrance Day. 
This week we made our own Halloween finger puppets. We used different materials to make different characters.
We had fun investigating which material is most suitable to make an airplane from. We made our predictions, then tested each one to see which was the best. 
- In class 5 we have been learning about how materials can be changed by bending, stretching, squashing and twisting.
Year 2 have had a visit from the local Magistrates in school this week and learned about the British Legal System
Year 2 have had a visit from Florence Nightingale in school this week.
In our science lesson this week, we have been looking at lots of different materials and what they are used for. We looked at the properties materials which makes it suitable for it’s purpose. Each group then had a different material to look at. We had to discuss the properties of the material which made it suitable or unsuitable for it’s purpose.
Well done to all of Class 5 who have completed their Kidsafe course and received their certificates.
Class 5 had lots of fun on Wednesday. They used lego to create their own stories and made their own animation videos by taking lots of photos and adding music and sound effects using ipads.
In Class 5 we have been looking at different sentence types. We used sorting mats to sort different types of sentences. We now know what a command, statement, exclamation and question are and are trying to use them in our writing.
