This half term we are learning all about Traditional Tales.
Class 4 used drama to re-enact the tale
‘Goldilocks and The Three Bears’
They each took on a character role and acted out the whole story using a script to support them.
The mini productions were so good that we just had to perform them in front of Class 3.
In class 4 we have been learning to count in 2s and we had so much fun doing it!
The children took on the role of an animal and then reenacted the song
‘The animals went in two by two’.
They counted in 2s as each pair moved like their animal into the ark.
We had some fantastic elephants, giraffes and kangaroos!
When the children were in class 2 they planted onion, marrow and pumpkin tiny seeds in the school garden.
Look at how big they are now!
It is Harvest time and they have been dug up ready to eat!
YUMMY
In PE this week we have been focusing on gymnastics.
Class 4 have been using their bodies to mirror the movements of all the animals they would find in the jungle.
Ask them to show you at home some of the great ideas they come up with …
pouncing tigers
tall straight giraffes
and even slithery crocodiles.
Year 1 visited the Riverside park as part of there D&T topic, where they are learning about playground equipment and sculptures.
They spotted lots of different materials and explored many different designs. Class 4 are excited to design their own piece of equipment back in the classroom!
Well done Class 4!
What a brilliant first assembly in year 1, you really raised awareness of recycling.
Class 4 have been working really hard in maths this week, where they have been focusing on ordering numbers and place value.
We played ‘Mathletes’ at the end of the week in teams to test how quick we could order the numbers 1- 20 and it was so much fun.
