What a wonderful start to the year we have had in Reception!
Over the past few weeks, our new Class 2 children have been very busy settling into school life, getting to know their new friends, and becoming familiar with all of our new routines. We have been so proud of how well they have adapted to their new classroom and how much their confidence and independence are already beginning to grow.
We have also started our new topic, ‘People Who Help Us’, and the children have loved talking about the different people who help us in the community. Our doctors’ surgery role-play area has been especially popular, with lots of doctors and nurses busy looking after their patients, making appointments and using their imaginations together.
Alongside this, the children have enjoyed exploring all of the different areas of our classroom and outdoor provision, with lots of opportunities for building, creating, investigating, role play and getting messy!
We have also begun our phonics lessons, learning new sounds to help us on our journey to reading and writing.
We have loved getting to know all of the children and seeing their personalities begin to shine through. They have already achieved so much in such a short space of time, and we are very excited to see what the rest of the year brings for Class 2 ✨🌈
