In class 4 we made vegetable soup!
We had so much fun peeling and chopping all of the vegetables: carrots/parsnip/turnip/potatoes/onions
We blended the mixture once it was cooked to make it smooth, then we added salt and pepper to the soup to give it lots of flavour.
In the afternoon it was time to taste the soup with some yummy bread to dip in. We all thought it was delicious!
We drew and labelled all of the vegetables that we used, as well as evaluating the process. We wrote about ….
what we liked doing the most, what the strongest flavours were and what we would do differently next time. We gave the soup a rating out of 5 to end the day.
Take a look at the pictures of us all cooking below ….
Class 4 have been learning about Baboushka in RE in this week.
The children could sequence and retell the story, as well as being able to find comparisons between the story of Baboushka and the Christmas story we perform in our nativity production.
.
Class 4 can sequence the events of Traditional Tales by creating story maps.
Class 4 definitely do have talent!
Whats your thing……?
Good luck fundraising today for Children in Need.
We dressed up in non-uniform for Children in Need and gave our donations to Pudsey Bear!
He gave the best hugs!
This half term we are learning all about Traditional Tales.
Class 4 used drama to re-enact the tale
‘Goldilocks and The Three Bears’
They each took on a character role and acted out the whole story using a script to support them.
The mini productions were so good that we just had to perform them in front of Class 3.
In class 4 we have been learning to count in 2s and we had so much fun doing it!
The children took on the role of an animal and then reenacted the song
‘The animals went in two by two’.
They counted in 2s as each pair moved like their animal into the ark.
We had some fantastic elephants, giraffes and kangaroos!
When the children were in class 2 they planted onion, marrow and pumpkin tiny seeds in the school garden.
Look at how big they are now!
It is Harvest time and they have been dug up ready to eat!
YUMMY
In PE this week we have been focusing on gymnastics.
Class 4 have been using their bodies to mirror the movements of all the animals they would find in the jungle.
Ask them to show you at home some of the great ideas they come up with …
pouncing tigers
tall straight giraffes
and even slithery crocodiles.
