This week we have been learning about the Great Fire of London and the children have written excellent diary accounts of Samuel Pepys.

We have been learning about the history and geography of our town South Shields and had a local artist called Zoe Emma Scott visit our class today.  We have learned how to draw and paint local landmarks.

We had a lovely day at the Word yesterday.  We made Lego models and programmed them to move using a motor. We also made our own platform games using 2Simple.

Year 2 performed at the the Customs house on Wednesday evening and were amazing.  They have worked very hard practicing the songs with Mr Richardson this term.  Well done!

Class 6 have been learning about South Shields this term.  They are creating sculptures of the local landmarks and have been learning about famous people in South Shields.

We have had an excellent week learning about kings and queens.  We have made a crown and had special visitors that have came into school to read a story.  We have written book reviews in literacy and ordered kings and queens chronologically on a time line.

Class 6 have been learning about Kenya and researching using search engines.  In art, they have created a silhouette of a safari scene.

In Design technology, we have been designing and making patchwork elephants using recycled milk cartons.
