Year 1 have been enjoying all things autumn this week! We have been reading The Leaf Thief and made predictions about what might happen in the story. We explored Autumn vocabulary and thought carefully about adjectives we could use to describe autumn objects, colours and changes we can see around us.
We have also been working on our comprehension skills by recalling and sequencing the key events from the story, showing how well we can remember and talk about what we have read.
We have been celebrating the beautiful season of Autumn with our Autumn Assembly, where we learned more about the changes that happen during this season. We were very proud to showcase our artwork, which we created using real autumn leaves and a wonderful range of autumn colours. 
. To finish our week of writing, we became poets and created an acrostic poem about the wind (who took the Autumn leaves).
It has been a busy and colourful week of learning, and we are so proud of the enthusiasm and creativity Year 1 have shown!
