Class 6 have been learning all about a scientist from the past called Louis Pasteur. He carried out experiments to prove that germs spread from person to person through the air and through touch. His aim was to minimise the spread of germs and reduce the transmission of diseases.

The children carried out an experiment where one person from each group put their hand in glitter then shook hands with other children in their group. The children noticed that the glitter spread easily from person to person. The only way we could get the glitter off our hands was to wash them with soap and water. This highlighted the importance of washing our hands thoroughly to reduce the spread of germs.
