Class 2 have AMAZING understanding of numbers 1-3!
Reception has had a fantastic start to phonics this year! The children have been learning the sounds s, a, t, and p. They’ve been practising recognising and hearing these sounds at the start of a word.
In addition to listening for these sounds, the children have also been sorting objects based on their initial sounds.
These early phonics skills are helping to build confidence in their language development and laying the groundwork for future reading success.
We have had a wonderful first week in Reception. We have shared stories, explored, made new friends, sang songs and ai much more! The children have settled in beautifully and I am so proud of them! They are already showing amazing curiosity, kindness and excitement for learning!
Our amazing, clever, wonderful, independent, fabulous Early Years graduates!
We are so unbelievable proud of the resilient, confident children you have all become and we can’t wait to see you continue to flourish next year! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Here is your children’s GORGEOUS individual photos from this morning
Thank you so much for coming this morning, I know you’ll all be just as proud as we are!
A fantastic day at Hardwick Park
We spent the morning being pirates and using natural resources to create a pirate ship, followed by cleaning the ocean and then a treasure hunt!
In the afternoon we read a lovely story all about very naughty pirates who didn’t know how to look after our world! We learnt all about how to keep our planet safe and clean from litter!
WELL DONE OUR SPORTS SUPERSTARS!!
Soooo proud of the effort and determination this afternoon, they were absolutely amazing!!!!
Thank you so much to everyone who came to watch and cheer them on! And massive thank you to the grown ups for getting involved with the race at the end, even if some of them cheated
This week we have been learning all about 3D shapes and their properties. We know that 3D shapes are SOLID, in comparison to 2D shapes which are FLAT. We know that 3D shapes are everywhere in our world and we even went on a hunt to spot 3D shapes. We then sorted real life objects into the correct shape and discussed some facts we know about the shapes.

Our new morning challenge when we first come into school is to use our wonderful imaginations to think of a sentence to match the picture. We discuss it with our friends and ask our friends some interesting questions to help our friends extend their thinking.
I.e. what do you see? How do you think they are feeling and why? What do you think will happen next?
Look at our amazing sentences, developing our language and writing skills ✨✨✨✨
Thank you so much to everyone who attended our reading afternoon to share a lovely book with your child and spend some quality time together
This week we have been researching Famous Pirates ☠️
We have also been making our own Jolly Roger’s
