Class 1 Archive 2023 24

The children have had lots of fun reading the story of Rapunzel this week and have written some brilliant descriptions of her in Literacy, read words from the stories and drew pictures to match and have even cut her spaghetti hair in our finger gym!

We have made our very own ocean in a bottle this week and they look amazing! It looks like waves rolling across the sea when you tip the bottle from side to side.

Class 1 have had lots of fun in their new role play area. Dressing as pirates and hunting for treasure.

In Class 1 this week we have been learning all about measuring. We received a letter from the giants asking us to measure their footprints. we found out which one was the longest and then worked out which would be the tallest giant. We’ve also explored tape measures in pairs measuring lots of items around our classroom.

The children have enjoyed learning all about the life cycle of a frog. They have sequenced each step and described what happens in each. They have also been making their own frogs.

The children had an amazing time for world book day dressed as Kings and Queens. They even got to meet the captain of South Shields FC who came in to read stories to them.

Class 1 had so much fun this week at Temple Park where they took part in a Multi-Sports festival. They completed activities from lots of different sports such as football, tennis, rugby, basketball, netball and athletics. They worked so hard on each activity.

In Class 1 this week a mysterious box appeared in our class covered in warning labels and a list of care needs. We investigated what we thought might be inside. The children created warning posters based on their idea. Near the end of the week we came into the classroom to find the box was torn open and no creature was in sight. After a hunt around the classroom we found what it was… A dinosaur!!

We have enjoyed wearing our Christmas jumpers today. There are lots of different designs and pictures on them. Some of them even had lights and played music!
